Racing Beat header

so i was looking at the racing beat steetable header/collecter for my 89 gtus. it says to not use it with fuel injection. why is this? emission reasons? or something else. any help will be nice

It doesn't say don't use it w/ fuel injection. It says you'd gain more power when you set it up with carb (but it's not saying carb is better than FI).

The reason is that there is no real HP advantage using the header over just a down pipe, when used with stock ports and stock FI, but will be much louder.

No, uncollected duals would be a considerable HP gain.

But he is asking about the collected header, not the uncollected that would be used with true duals.

Uncollected means each eacust port has tis own pipe and the header has two output pipes
Collected means both exaust ports are combined into one output pipe.

quick:
collected: both rotor exhaust ports join together and fllow thru cat/pre-silencer and then split at the y-pipe to flow thru individual mufflers

uncollected : each exhaust pot flows into an individual pie to its own muffler. you basically build 2 exhaust sysytems
