racing beat, or borla??
When I first got my Borla, I just replaced the factory cat-back and left the OEM cats in place. I don't recall there being much of a drone with just that. However when I added the Bonez high-flow cat and replaced the precats with a straight pipe, there was definitely a 3100 RPM drone that did get annoying. Not sure how much of that was due to the Borla and how much was due to the other components.
Maybe Racing Beat used to make their NA headers out of stainless, but the ones they offer now are described by them as mild steel. From the description on their site:
"Racing Beat's Road Racing Header is the first step in building a serious racing exhaust system. The engine-to-pipe flange is laser cut from 7/16" thick flat steel for superb exhaust gas sealing qualities. Like all of the headers we manufacture, the Road Racing Header is constructed with 2" OD mild steel tubing, .120" wall thickness, and mandrel-bent tubing throughout. This header weighs approximately 15.5 lbs and is approximately 28" in length."
