RB: I have two friends, one with the RB catback and one with the Borla.
They're both nice and they both sound good, but the RB is a bit nicer sounding and a bit nicer looking. [Though Borla has a much better warranty that shouldn't be an issue with the quality of the RB system.]

I have had borla and RB on my car
The RB system is a nicer looking and slightly better sounding system, and should you decide later to change exhaust for some reason will have better resale value.
Unless you have a good local shop buy a bolt on system, getting dicked around by a shop that may not even do a good job or use stainless sucks and in the end you may end up paying more money.

I have also owned both over the years, though the Racing Beat just arrived in the mail and there's snow on the ground here so it's still in its box.
The Borla uses all stainless piping while the Racing Beat does not. For example, the RB Y-pipe is what appears to be chrome plated mild steel though the RB mufflers and tips are all stainless. The Borla is also good bit lighter. The Racing Beat probably looks a little cooler, but I liked the low-key look of the Borla too, especially on an otherwise unmodified NA car.
I ran the Borla through about seven road salt-laden winters in Pennsylvania before parting that car out, and the exhaust still looked like brand new when I took it off. It's a very high quality setup. I always liked the sound of it; low and rumbly, not tinny and shrill like some cheaper exhausts.
Probably can't go wrong with either.

My prefence is RB every time.
Might I suggest their downpipe/presilencer as well. Only 4 bolts to deal with to swap the stock cats back in come emission test time and you enjoy an extra estimated 18 horses in between tests.

well basically i could prolly get lucky. cuz a friend of mine bought a 87 camaro and somehow didnt need echeck. this was last year. if i could get away with not having to. i would then deff do the downpipe and stuff. cuz the kid i bought car from is a total idiot. he plug the driver side exit on y pipe and didnt do it good at all. sounds like crap to begin with cuz there is like 90 leaks. plus evertime you start it exhaust comes up in the car thru the shifter area. so yeah exhaust is a kinda big issue for me.
I think you only need to have an e-check one time this year and then you are done till you can get a historical plate next year. I have an 87 and just purchased an Apexi gt spec catback and plan on getting my last e-check before installing it. You wont need another e-check after this year.
no. got hanger kit. cat replacement kit. cat back kit. then i need to do shocks and springs and ignition wires. ill be happy. i dont really wanna make it super holy **** fast. i just want it to be nice. and may as well do all struts since back ones are done for. and hell ill be there. why not springs..
ah another ohio guy. echeck blows. i think i may just wait it out till its 25 cuz im not too keen on them dynoing my stick. my dad had issues with echeck and mt and my buddy with camaro did with his s10 and then his newer camaro before the 87. every single one just mentioned. echeck fried the tranny and guess what. echeck didnt pay for it like they suppose to. i was actually with my buddy for his s10 and they had some girl do it. never shifted kept it in first and right before it failed trany gave.. and the guy of course. smart ***. was like i think thats a fail...
The Borla kit can be had for less than $500 at most places online. Here is one for example: http://www.lmperformance.com/7006/94.html

+1 for Borla, i like RB but my Borla XR1 has an F1 tone to it which is why i am going to make it into a dual system versus the single when i have time and money to throw at it. going to use turndowns also when i do it, i prefer the simple look over the bling of the RB system too. i guess to me it just resembles the stock tips too much versus when you see turndowns you know something is going on...
