Race Motors?

Are there any places that sell Rotory Race motors for 2nd gen rx7s? I have a 2nd gen turbo that is my project car and is going to be turned into a drift car. I know it wont be cheap either but need the power. Thanks!

Lol dont need that much power!!! i just ment like a built up motor with a moderate turbo.. If i had 48,000 to throw away that would be my first pick though.

What kind of "race motor" are you talking about? Usually drifters don't have much as far as power adders in the engine from what I've seen. Mild porting, if any, and otherwise normal.

PP 13BRE with a nice turbo and haltech should net some decent results.

you can find importers for japanese 13BRE engines though an imported engine will need to be rebuilt. in order to port the engine or do extensive port work the engine needs to come apart anyways.

if you want a quick way to find importers of the engines you can find them on ebay or do a search of this site for importers of japanese engines who are somewhat "reliable".

you could even stick with a 13BT if the porting is going to be that extensive, the intake setup on the 13BRE flows best for the second gen applications but a PP would require a custom setup anyhow so any 13B turbo engine would work. the 13BRE and 13BREW irons do have more potential than the 13BT engines do for stock iron porting, PP is no limit as to porting since most peripheral ports go directly through the rotor housings, i do not recommend j-ports or any other gross side ports that require cheesegrating the irons and reduce reliability and flow potential.

if you cant make your car slide with a 13B-RE that has REW housings, then thats bad... most drift setups only require intake, exhaust, tuning, and maybe some more boost... what kind of power are you looking for?

you can have that built easy for about $10K including ECU and tuning. add in like $10-15K more for suspension, wheels, tires, intercooler, exhaust and other stuff and youll have a tite drift car for under $25K. Theres lots of vendors on this website who can sell you a motor or stuff to bolt on to it.

a good drifter can drift mad tite with like only 100whp. It just takes a lot of practice and good suspension and stuff. He said he wanted 350-400whp not that he needed 350-400whp.

I think 250-300 + HP would be fine for drifting, espicially with a light weight car such as a 2nd gen........Any other comments? Turbo 2 with some mods would be fine...just need to work on the suspension
