Autometer has a bad reputation around here. The majority of the people here hate them. I dont have any personal experience with them so I cant say theyre good or not. VDO makes good gauges. These come stock in Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and other cars. I would lean towards VDO since I've heard pretty good things about them compared to Autometer. Hopefully someone with experience using both gauges will give you a better reply. Peace!

Depends where you buy it. Either way, vac line is like 0.30$/foot at any auto parts place. Same with wiring for the lights.

the autometer comes with some crap plastic tubing. I changed mine for vac line. you'll also need a "T" to connect the line to the engine.

if you have some money to spare buy a greddy boost gauge. I wish I did... my autometer will be throw out one day for a greddy.

I just did that.. trashed mine for a Blitz I-D though

my autometer seems inconsistant and inaccurate.. like 12psi but no boost cut .. (i had no FCD) I moved my vacuum line source around and never was accurate.. gave up.

Autometer f*&(ing sucks!!!
I supposedly got the best model: Pro-comp. Mine is liquid filled, but only 3/4 of the way up... looks like **** like that. Very poor impression.
ALso- depending on the temp, the resting position of the needle can vary from -5hg to +4 psi!!! WTF is that?? If you leave the light on in it it heats up enough to really through it off. What a piece of crap. I would never recommend buying one to anybody.
Definatly go VDO, or anything else but AM.
