**** it, I just found an HKS SS local for a decent price so I'm buying it. I'll just recirculate it...hopefully it sounds ok.

You won't hear much if you recirculate it.

Mine isnt recirc, and it all of a sudden doesnt sound at all like it should. It's really really quiet. I'm pushing 12pounds on it. I had a 3rd gen kit one and it sounded awesome when i was pushing more air with my v-mount. After a while i had problems with it and bought another, but this one doesnt sound at like my first one did. Kind of pisses me off

Get a Blitz, they make a wooshing sound. If you get one, make sure its the one that comes with a filter on the end. That makes it hard to hear over your exhaust.

okay, definately a n00b question, but is there any performance gain to venting back to the (intake manifold?)? or is it just to make it more silent?

ya

if you vent to the intake manifold, when u shut the throttle, it pushes air into the intake = shut throttle, car still go, and then the afm is already shut so yeah
dont do that

Yea, Blitz is very quiet. I had an HKS and it sounds like it's whistling. Anyone got a video with vrrious sounds? Personally, I would like to get a GReddy, but I don't have a RX-7 anymore.

N00B question here & sorry for the thread revival but what do I have to port on a stock blow-off valve so it can handle boost a little better. Im trying to do this on a MX-6 blow-off valve.

I have the HKS SSQV BOV. I like it a lot because it has the whistle then air escaping noise and I think its at a moderate level of noise. Enough to hear, but not enough to attract to much attention. Its nowhere near the Greddy Type S. That thing is loud and makes you want to trip when drunk. Although it sounds nice in my opinion. Don't get blitz either, its pretty damn loud.

You mean connect it to the TID, not UIM.

You can't.
