Racing Beat makes good sounding exhaust systems that are very quiet at cruising speeds. If they're too loud for you, you're pretty much out of luck. Only down side is the price, but used examples can be had at decent prices from time to time.

You could always go with a nice 1.75 inch set up with 6 catalytic converters welded in. That would be nice and quiet. Why not go with a stock set up then?

well i guess 6 cats would quiet it down some. the reason i want a super queit exhaust is more so i can drive around without attracting alot of attention. when i want power ill just use this http://www.jegs.com/p/Mr.+Gasket/744831/10002/-1/11529
has anyone ever used one. i think it is a good idea to be able to open it up and be running like almost open header whenever i want. this should be very very loud and give me maximum hp. i have never used one but hope someone else has and would like to know how it worked. they even have an electric unti but its waaaaay more $$$

btw the stock exhaust is trash

You are gonna need 2 tunes though. One for restrictive as **** "mouse" exhaust, and the other for "boost creep better have the fuel for it or pop" exhaust.

would be funny seeing the look on peoples faces when that **** opens up though.

i kinda figured about the tunning. im sure any good standalone will let me save different tunes right. ya its going to be hilarious to open that thing up and sound like an airplane is taking off. do you think it will shoot flames. i want to dump it through the passenger fender somewhere. but i have a feeling im going to need to put it further back. its just something different i plan to put on my set up. what would be the pros and cons of doing this. if anyone knows.

Full 3inch turboback - I have a RB downpipe, some kind of presilencer (dunno what kind, used $100 and love it), some custom piping, and an HKS Carbon-TI muffler at the end... and its not loud, its actually perfect. classic rotary sound, perfect dor driving around town and anywhere without causing a stir. sounds great on WOT, and not deafening at all.

($90dp + $100presil. + $275custom + $200muffler = $665)

best exhaust I ever heard for a rotary -- and its mine! woooooo hahaha

I found that wrapping my pipes with header wrap lowered the sound level on my RB true dual on my NA. I have to stick my head out the window to hear it.
