Quick question S4 to S5

Hi guys Im at work and dont really have time to search so if I can get some answers really quick without people telling me to search. I have a 88 N/A and want to convert it to a TII right? Ok well I cannot find a S4 TII motor anywhere. I can find S5 ttII swaps all over but no S4. So if I buy a S5 'swap'(trans, motor, harness, ecu) will it pretty much bolt right in? Thanks so much

Bolt in: yes.
Wire up: hell no.

Take a look at the ECU pinouts and you'll see why.

Ok thanks S4 it is. I cant remember why but when I had my first 86 the guy I got it from had stated you CANNOT turbo a N/A. Why is this? Because of hjigher compression rotors? Thanks again

FAQ = Frequently Asked Questions.

You could do a S5 TII swap and throw in a standalone engine management system.

Hmmm, I browsed the FAQ and didn't see anything. It might have gotten lost.

Check this page out. http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/naturbo.htm

Sort of. The thread in my sig doesn't cover 6-port turbo engines. If anything, it's on Aaroncake's site. And there are plenty of threads floating around too.

Ok thanks. I read the FAQ in your sig a couple times now and got the basic idea of that. I got my a/c p/s and air pump out last night so I can finally see the motor on this thing. Going to do a compression check on it tonight and hope for the best. If she shows good compression on all faces I might try to turbo the n/a motor. If not its time for a TII swap.
