Quick question regarding N/A potential hp

Hey guys sorry if this topic has been beaten but i was curious on just how viable a 300 to 350 hp n/a 13b is. I mean i've heard of parallel ported engines in the 300 to 450 hp are but how reliable and lasting could these engines be. I've heard stores if them lasting for years with no problems and stories of them lasting only months. And are they viable for daily driving. And what is the main difference between the hp bands for the na at 325 hp andsay a turbo 2 at 350 hp?

Ok I think you are rephering to a pripheral port which is the most extrem port you can have. You may make about 250 rwhp but you will not be able to drive the damned thing since it is designed for RACE not for the street. YOu wil have to tune it just right for it to make that much power but I peronaly doubt that 450hp is possible in any two rotor N/a unless it is a higher displacement verision or a Renesis style 13B with major modifichations. If you have any kind of emmissions or sound level laws in your area stop reading now. If you want that much power and still be drivable buy a TII and start moding that. At least then 450hp is not too crazy of a goal. Or do a 20B swap and go all out for something like 5-600hp I am just throwing out numbers so don't take these as benchmarks for any of these engines just that in its N/a form you would need some large porting the proper exhaust serious fuel system a lot of tunning and on top of that a large wet shot of nitrous.

The peripheral port does not last very much. Probably a coulpe to several years but that all depends on the engines life. Not to mention that you will be spending major cash on making that engine.

lol thnx for the correction 87. I was just really curious because ive never heard of the peri port util i came across this site =). Yeah i need to make something daily drivable and with enough hp to keep me happy lol. So i guess t2 around 300hp range will be ok. But its really difficult to locate a t2 round here soo whic na platform would be best to drop a t2 into. would the se drive train shaft and differential hold the t2 hp??

Any S4 would be a good candidate for a turbo swap. They're cheap, abundant, and usually need a new motor anyway, so try that.

Well you can get into the 180 to 200 rwhp range with some street porting on an N/a and it will still be very drivable but it will consume some more fuel than normal probably getting you about 15MPG or something close to that. This is what I am in the process of doing to my Sport. But I also plan to get a TII and FD later on. I think that you may want to stick with the N/a for a bit longer and get used to the car and find a TII to be your project car.

300hp out of a TII should not be too hard but I am not an expert on how to come by those numbers safely or cheaply so sorry.

The TII is a bit more complicated and takes a bigger wallet to keep on the road than an N/a/

The N/a drive train probably won't last very long with 300HP to deal with so YOu might want to get the TII drive train with the engine and ECU and other things that you will need for the swap.

A third idea is giong the route of the supercharger from atkinsrotary.com which supposedly makes around 250hp but you will have to spend about 2-4k dollars and you will have to ditch EFI for a carb unless they come out with the kit that uses EFI soon.

i used to have an 86 gxl na so i'm pretty familiar with its nature and tendencies. with the atknis kit could i push the numbers up higher by putting one onto a ported n/a? I prefer na's because i like to run a few tracks on weekends as well as some drifting once in a while. And i know the n/a engines last alot longer. And guess a sc would be good casue the power curve is a bit more constant (no lag) and what is the twin pre silences system in your sig?
