I was curious about something that my GXL used to do, and wondered if anyone in here could give me a explanation.

A while ago, before I blew an apex seal, ( getting a new motor soon .) The check engine light in my car used to go on randomly but it would turn off shortly after. Usually when it happened I was going up a small hill. Any answers to this bizaarness?
