Quick Intake QUESTION!

Can anyone tell me what the rectangular ports on the irons are for. Are they just intakes like the oval ones above them? Im not sure because it looks like the lower intake gasket covers these retangular ports... i took it off so long ago and cannot remember for certain if they were covered or not. Also i remember reading a post where someone on the forum fabricated a intake manifold. I searched but could not find what i was looking for, i belive it was painted red when finished. Any help finding a link to that, and a answer to my question would be great, thanks!

do you mean the one under the primary runners on the center plate? If so, that is for the EGR, your gasket shouldnt cover it up.

yes i meant that and the two others on the outer runners. If you run no egr is it ok to cover this middle retangle port up?
