it's a good idea to pull over when the add coolant buzzer goes off or temps rise, well, unless you have enough money for a new motor and just don't care.

It sounds like you didn't have enough water in the system...the add coolant light came on...it just built pressure up and blew it out.... If you had to add water...explains why you need a water pump....it was probably leaking... If you have the money I would go ahead and replace all your hoses... I just went thought a bout with mine where I would replace a hose once a week... I didn't have the money to do them all at once...but it kept blowing different hoses...
Anyway- Thats my business is radiators and cooling systems... let me know if I can help you~! I do have a HOWE radiator that will fit in here....all aluminum...

well ive been having the same problem already for some reason the coolant is not flowing right and it would send it back to the reservoir so the add coolant would pop up and i would check and the reservoir is full but this time it was worse

I don't think fans are too important for cooling, cuz they're only on at idle, but I would fix that water pump as quick as possible. Easiest way to tell if the water pumps working, cuz it seems like you're not sure, is to run the car and wait til it heats up and squeeze the upper radiator hose, you should feel coolant and water moving through it. You can also check for leaks under your car, if they're below the water pump, you got a problem there.

I have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. Can you rephrase the problem description into English?

I burned a few brain cells reading this!

Most people pull over when they hear aloud bang....not continue driving.

I was going to offer to sell you my extra radiator, but I think thats the least of your problems.
So did you actually keep driving after this happened? If so you motor as almost certainly dead. I suspect the reason the coolant keeps going to the overflow tank is because you toasted a coolant seal and the engine is pressurizing the entire cooling system. I can't think of a problem with the water pump that would cause coolant to go into the overflow tank.

I love it..." i heard the add coolant buzzer and proceeded to drive home"
someone mustve forgot to tell you rx7s have cooling issues especially when there's NO COOLANT
rebuild it this time using teflon coolant seals and in the process of refurbishing your engine compartment buy a new Koyo aluminum radiator preferably the NFLow version with new silicone (samco or sfs hoses) and install a new water pump. you should use this misfortune as an "excuse" to build the "engine of your dreams!"

a water pump not turning will cause boiling in the cooling system causing overpressurization and finally coolant forced out of the system into the overflow, it doesn't necessarily mean the coolant seals failed but this nit wit sounds like he drove with it overheating for a while and likely did pop it.

all coolant seals i have seen/used were teflon coated, i'm unaware of any that are not.

Yeah, I guess that does make sense. I still don't see any way there isn't damage to this engine.

happened to me just the other day when my A/C belt snapped and whipped and took out both my alt. and smog pump belts. the coolant boiled out but it was caught in time to not have caused any engine damage.

water pump not spinning= not good.
