Question Quick ID with Photos (2 to eyeball)

So i'm unclear about these two things and would appreciate anyone clearing them up for me:

1. This looks like something that should have a hose on it. Pic is taken from driver's side of engine bay.

2. This looks like something that should be bolted down (A ground?) It comes out of a wiring bundle.

Thanks for anything here-
steve

#1 is the opening for when you have a idle air input on the bac. Since your car is not a Turbo, and has the idle air on the top of the intake, there is not need for anything on the BAC there.

#2 should be mounted to ground. It is either for the oil pressure sender or the leading coil and is called a condensor. It serves as a capacitor to reduce surges in the electrical circuits it is used in.
