So my radiator is leaking/losing pressure, and the cap isn't opening to cycle any water, because the pressure is being released elsewhere; mostly the creases. Not in the fins, or at the caps, at all. I drive a 10th Anniversary with very few mods.

Does anyone know of any good products; additives, pastes, etc etc, they know of that will fix this problem pretty well without having to actually replace said radiator? Thanks, sexies.

Edit: Also, I'll take suggestions for some nice radiators, too, since I plan on replacing it, anyway. Koyo, anyone?

By "the creases" I assume you mean the crimps where the endtanks meet the core.
If so, you need a new rad.

Koyos are nice and any radiator shop can supply an all metal stock replacement.

Don't use stop leak!!! All of those products are crap! I'd use a raw egg before I put that crap into my engine (the raw egg thing works.. mythbusters did it. hehe). Atleast the raw egg would flush out and biodegrade..

Unfortunately, replacing the radiator is the only REAL solution.

Are you sure its leaking OUT of the cooling system? As in.. you can SEE coolant?

What are the symptoms.. could be that your engine is consuming it.

Trust me. I see steam and water coming from the "crimps," but only when it gets quite hot. And it's running a lot hotter than it was before it started leaking. So I know it's not cycling the water because of this. It's not leaking anywhere else.

I'm just gonna go with Koyo.

Before you spend money on a radiator... make sure its not your engine. Any bubbling when you rev? Is there oil in your overflow? Is there water in your oil? Is your car smoking at all?

He's gonna have to replace the rad whether the engine has problems or not.

yeah, but he might decide on a cheaper model than a Koyo if he realizes how much money he'll be spending....

I agree. Also you can use pepper. It smells funny but it works. also biodegradable and will flush out. NO STOP LEAK!!!!

You could always give it a go at a radiator shop. Maybe they can fix it. The radiator isn't that hard to pull. Mostly the fan gets in the way and you gotta wriggle it out, IIRC. The rest is cake.

It took me half an evening to pull the radiator and put it back. It was my first time and I tend to be slow. That was my old car, and I was (am?) pretty inexperienced. Was just seeing if I could do it before I bought an e-fan.

My coolant seals are fine. Already went through all the possibilities. It's just the radiator. I keep 2 gallons of water in my car at all times. So when that buzzer goes off, in with new water.

BUT. I regret to say, I did use stop-leak, and it didn't do ****, except I think it made it run even hotter. Wtf is that ****. I'm seriously going to try the egg tonight. Just one? Or can I use a whole dozen?

i had some crakes on mine...I uesd JB Dry Weld. It's an expoxice glue that goes on the out side....you get one tube of glue and one of liquid steal mix it up and put it on. Works well.

Yea I've temporarily fixed radiators like that until I had the money to replace them. Just make sure the surface is absolutely clean before you try to glue it, the slightest bit of anti-freeze residue and it will pop off the first time you run the engine.
