quick fire question...
i wont get flames if im running a cat right? right now my setup is stock dp, into magnaflow highflow cat, into apex n1. and though i get lots of little pops. no fire (to my knowledge) id love to flex on my friends (honda and mitsubishi drivers) im sure they would get a kick out of it, as would i =D

If you want flames, you gotta go with a straight-through design. No high-flow, no stock DP. I guess one of the effects would be increased powah... But you don't want that, do you?
Also, throw an S-AFC on there and increase the fuel% throughout the RPM's if you want to mess around with flames. I assume you're rocking a TII?

How old are you?
Flames and backfiring out the exhaust hurts the exhaust system.
In extreme cases, it'll blow out gaskets and blow mufflers apart.
So if you like being cool and destroying your exhaust, then go right ahead.
Any exhaust will backfire if you throw enough fuel at it.
...even if you have a cat - of course, this will prematurely destroy the cat also.
