Quick Clutch Question...

Ok its me again..i finally got around to dropping that damn gearbox..ok so earlier tonight i took off the clutch....and seen that the clutch disk had pieces of it broken off...not sure what thats all about...but what could cause that??also where it the pilot bearing??? i stuck my finger in there and just felt something inside turning but it wasnt dead center it was around the opening...am i supposed to just feel it in there or what else do i have to do?

1. The clutch is probably worn, although if its stock and is actually missing large chunks it has been subjected to forces that of which it was not designed to take.
1a)In short, the cause of chunks missing from friction plate - abuse

2. Yep, you found the pilot bearing...
2a)What else to do with it? change it, pull the old one out, pop the new one in

ok but

iight so i would just have to get a new clutch disk? also how the hell do i get that pilot bearing out? if its there its there then how would it be bad? how would you know?

does the pilot bearing spin freely? I'd change it either way if you've gone this far, Your gonna need a pilot bearing puller. Makes life easy when you've got the right tools. I'd check out the pressure plate and flywheel surfaces for scuffs and heat damage, you might wanna get them resurfaced so you dont screw up the new clutch disk.
