Quick brake question

Ok so i just got myself replacement Disc/pads all round for my S5 turbo. Now i've always done my own spanner bending and fitted at least one set of totally new brakes to all of my cars. So i've done the job 10+ TIMES

So why have i just spent two hours trying to get just one disc off! and not being successful?

It should be coming off! the caliper is out the way and the small retaining screws are off but i just cant shift the disc!

has anyone got any ideas? before i take it to the garage!

I replaced the clutch last month with no problems and im suck on a brake disc!!!

take a metal headhammer. lightly(but not too lightly) hit the edges of the rotor. hit the top, then hit botom, then hit the top but more to the left...etc...

this should wedge it free. i had the same problem with my drivers side rotor.

Yeah See i started with the medium sized metal head hammer, ended up with the heavy lump hammer!!

Still didn't shift and I was giving it some in the end! Also tryed the leverage method but felt i would end up damaging the caliper support.

Talk about interference fit! it's in solid!

Any other ideas?

did you soak the hub area of the disc with some penetrating oil?

what about heating up the old disc with a small torch?

if there's a slot for a small Jack screw you can just do that and its really easy, BUT on the other hand, I had to get a rubber mallet and smack it a few times not too hard. Yea maybe you should try some penetrating oil, that'll prolly work.

Yes i have used penetrating oil didnt' seem to help, still wouldn't shift. This is why i'm totally suck or the standard things i've done and still got no where.

I haven't got a blow tourch or i would have tried that too, Do you think it would really help?

Thanks for the replys guys
