Quick Antenna Question

Will removing the fuse just de-activate the antenna or will it affect other electrical parts of the car. I have an after market CD player installed.

I just want to keep the antenna down and not go through the trouble of removing it.

Why would you deactivate the antenna? An aftermarket head unit needs it just as much as the stock head unit.

Pulling the antenna fuse will also disable the power lock system. The obvious solution is just to not connect it to the new head unit.

Best method would be to get a switch and run it between the head unit and the antenna wire. You could also try just grounding or taping of the antenna wire.

There is a plug that goes right into the motor, disconnect that and the antenna will stay down it's what I did because my antenna would click loudly like it was stuck, which it was so it wouldn't like to go up and down very well.

No, the best method is to just not connect it to the head unit like I said. You don't need to do anything.

If its a half decent unit the antenna will only go up if your on the radio setting anyways why would you want to remove it? If you would like to though I could really use it lol.

well there should be relay back there (behind the radio) to switch polarity on the power antenna motor. I think you could just disconnect that.
