that means your car is functioning almost the way mazda intended it.

adjust your tps, make sure your emissions system is intact, and it should rev up and down with no pops or anything like normal.

my 89 t2 will shoot 1-2 footers after it warms up and i rev it up close to redline a few times. this is threw a full 3" RB exhaust. When I first got the car it was stock except for a bonez 2.5" downpipe and test pipe in place of the main cat and a full cut defencer rest of emmisions still intact that set up backfired and shot flames all the time. had a first gen with basically same set up was the same way. but has cleared up both times after full emmisions removal and every thing blocked off i guess in other words did the job right
