No.
The stock snorkel is useless without the airbox.

Seach 'intake' or 'cold air intake'. Some refer to the piece as a 'snorkel'.

I wouldn't buy either of those. If you want to get it off of ebay just get a k&n and an intake kit with a bunch of pipes and make it work. You will need an AFM adapter though to 'adapt' pipes to your square box of an AFM.

Good luck! NW!

the snorkel can be used to bring some air to an aftermarket intake right? but anyways, your best bet is to keep the stock airbox and invest in a nice exhaust! the gains (if any) are minimal with an aftermarket intake.

Wrong.

The only reason air flows through that snorkel is because the engine pulls it.
Disconnected from the airbox, the airflow through the snorkel is essentially nil.

i really want an exhaust too. but i can get an intake for like 50 bucks and that would be cool for now. i would buy an exhaust. but when i do im not buying a cheap crappy exhaust. i want a good brand. you know. so when i buy an exhaust ill be paying like alot. unless i can find a good deal on craigslist for a good one.

You might as well save the $50 towards an exhaust system. Aftermarket intakes on stock-port NAs do next to nothing.

..Except make you feel cool cause you can now say you have an intake in your car.

But really, put that 50 dollars toward the exhaust. The intake unless covered by some homemade box can actually make your car slower if it's sucking in hot air.

A Racing Beat exhaust is like $600. Not exactly breaking the bank.... Well not always at least. You should have your n/a as a daily driver and buy a TII. You will not be sorry. The N/A 7 will hardly ever be as fast as a stock TII even with it modded to the hilt.

that sounds pretty good actually. i might mod this one just a little bit just so its has a bit of a higher value and more of an appealing look. and at the end of this school year if i keep A's and B's my mom is putting up 2500 for a car. so that, plus whatever i could sell the one i have now for i could probably get a TII. whats a good price for a TII anyways

Take a look over at the 2nd Gen for sale section. It seems to be around 5K for a nice one, though I see them significantly lower sometimes.

oh. are the ones that are 5k modded? cuz if there not modded... TII's are 3500 in washington for the ones that arent modded. but if modded ones are 5k i would probably buy one of those. i turn 18 in 8 days. so if i got a job i would take out a loan to buy one(and it would build my credit)

so speed is the only reason we drive 7's ? i think i would rather have a well built N/A than a **** job T2. also just swap in a 20b lol, might as well go big or go home

n/a or t2 I think they are both pretty damn fun, the most important thing is to have it running right, all maintenance up to date, and have money to go racing! Man I wish I would have went n/a, or better yet, I wish I would have just put a 13bT in my 1st gen...I guess we all see the different directions we could have gone once were already halfway down the road!

speed is the ONLY reason i got a rx7. as soon as i got my first car, thats when i learned to drive a stick. and racing came really natural. i love it more than anything. haha. and i new rx7's were fast so i got one. ive only drove it twice though. and it was less that 50 yards each time. but its got hella power. it kept peeling out. so i just cant wait to top it out. im pumped.

I hate to break it to you, but you're stock n/a isn't that fast. It struggles to even keep up with newer cars. Don't get me wrong, i love my gxl but you have to realize that it's not the fastest car in the world (but possibly the sexiest). But really, learn your car, inside and out, and build it up. THEN you can see the benefits of having a fast car.

And even then, don't drive it like an *******. It's only making you look bad, and i'd hate to see your car torn in half against a tree.

Oh and i'm assuming you don't have a job since your mother is giving you 2500 at the end of the school year? Get one. Rx's aren't cheap, and that 2500 will go down the drain quick!

Well said Brian Reynolds. rx7's are expensive. I have a job that pays for school, bills and expenses that go to the 7. I don't even buy anything else without thinking "I could use that for gas or I could save that up for new exhaust. As soon as I got my 7 I immediately started fixing it. Until now it's still not in the best reliable condition but hell I love the **** out of it. Love you car bro and listen to Brian Reynolds, don't drive like an *******.

I only own RX-7s because they have rotary engines. That's it. Power is irrelevant in that regards. If the RX-7 didn't have a rotary, I wouldn't have one. If it was only about speed I'd have a car with a V8 LSX in it.
