questions about a fuel sensor in gxl s5

im still trying to purchase my rx7 still, but the guy at the lot says that there is something wrong with the fuel sensor, weak signal i think he said it was. and he's been trying to get his guy to fix it, but he sed he would check it out. would there be anyway of fixing that with these small, vague details. i figure i can tell him about how to fix it in maybe lowering the price of the car to me or something thanks again guys

If it needs a new sending unit, a new one costs a little over $100 from Mazdatrix. When I first got my car, the light that comes on when you are low on gas never came on, but the gauge would still work. After about 10 months, the gauge died. I got a new sensor and now the gauge and the light works.
