QUESTIONING TIPS ON INSTALLATION OF NEW CLUTCH & FLYWHEEL HELP

Planning On Installing My Parts On Easter Next Sunday Since My Car Is Now Stuck In Neutral Thanks To My Bearing. Anyways, Recommendations Or Suggestions On Other Drivetrain Parts Such As Mounts Or Whatever While Im Changing It So I Can Have It Done Right The First Time? And The Main Thing, Required Special Tools Necessary. Whats The Level Of Dificulty Compared To Other Rwd Type Vehicles?

Well, you can leave the driveshaft in the tranny so fluid won't spew out. When re-installing the tranny have a friend tilt the engine towards the back of the car so it's easier to line up. Uhm everything is pretty straight foward.

instead try unbolting the exaust manifold and it should allow for the engine to "drop back" slightly to get a better angle for reassembly but i think you have to disconnect a radiator hose for that to work if i remember correctly oh and check your trans mounts the y mounts and the saddle and check your u joints since factory are non replaceable u-joints i had a local company make a driveshaft for $100 and im satisfied with it but i took it out and put an aluminum one in it was $300 and sold the other one to a friend who totaled his and well while your under there check all your suspension bushings and rear end mounts

If this is a turbo car you can try to get it installed without pulling the engine but the angle has to be perfect. When I did mine I spent a long time trying to get it to go on with help and making sure I had the correct clutch (had an old one too). Anyway, ending up pulling the engine back out (was a rebuild/port install) and mating them together and putting both back in the car while losing the Redline fluid out the tranny, expensive puddle (didn't know the driveshaft had to be there.) Anyway, even out of the car it was hard to do if the angle isn't perfect it won't go, guess that's what racing style means. Anyway one trick that helped was to get some long bolts that fit and cut the heads off them and use them to help line things up, still was a pain though but it could just be my car, who knows?

Take the drain plug out of the tranny first and drain it. The driveshaft seal needs to be changed anyway, as long as it is apart. 5 dollar seal. Make sure you label EVERY nut and bolt. For my 90 vert, the 4 bolts holding the bellhousing are all different lengths. Have fun!
