Well, today i was driving and i spotted an FC at a dealership so me and my friend pulled in and we asked to look at the car..We asked if it was turbo and the salesperson said yes it was..We went out to the car and checked it all out, Its a little rough, but mostly in good shape, back is gutted and the engine started fine. When we first started it, And reved it up a little bit..we noticed some light blue smoke..this smoke would be coming from the turbo...and it would mean oil buring correct? It didnt stay around long..once we had it started and reved it abit..There was no smoke that i know of. The car was kind of running rough for a minute though, We would rev it..then itd go down to about 600 RPM and feel like it was thinking about stalling but then itd go back up into the 1000 - 1500 RPM range and idle there. This low idle was gone after a few minutes, The weather conditions were hotish warm (florida beach) We looked at the engine, but could not locate a turbo, But we actually didnt know where to look for it cause we dont have much expierence with FCs. We saw what looked to be an intercooler, I read that the stock one was top mount..But this one was down real low and close to the bottom of the radiator..So at this point im questioning..is this car even turbo?? Im not sure whether it is or not truthfully..It doesnt have a sunroof, it has manual windows and locks..and cloth interior..no hood scoop or outside stickers..so im truely not sure exactly what model the car is..Im hoping its turbo, The engine looked fairly new and the odometer read 105K So..is there any way to identify for sure if this car is infact turbo? Im going to look at it again tomorrow..Where should i look for the turbo..and can anyone tell me if it is or not based on the information ive given.? Thanks to all that read this, Its kinda long. Please reply here or AIM me at slistreetracer and we can talk about it. any help is appreciated! Ive reviewed the how to buy a turbo rx7 link and i kinda need some more help. Thanks!

No turbo Rx7s in 86, unless its a swap..Also, all turbos had all power windows locks etc...Again, unless its a swap...and the intercooler you thought you saw, was probably the oil cooler...Also, it would have a scoop on the hood...Numerous other small things to denote a turbo..
no sun roof and manual windows? sounds like a gtus which is one of the rarest fcs made. Lightest of the NA models.
The "intercooler" you were looking at was probably the oil cooler as AE Racer said. Just look for the hood scoop and the intercooler under the scoop. Also take a look in the gauge cluster. The bottom left gauge should be a boost gauge if it is a TII.
