Question for those who have premixed

How long have you guys run your premix setup and do you see any excess wear and tear on the engine? I mentioned that I was thinking of it on my turbo 2 that I just bought and my friend said I shouldn't do it because he saw a lot of wear to his rotor housings that was attributed to the 2-stroke oil.

I just wanted to ask you guys how long you've been running your setups for and hopefully some of you have done a teardown after this and seen how it comes out. I like the idea of doing the premix, I just need the final nudge to do it. If anyone has a really negative expereience with it, please post it.

Was there any abnormal wear to the engine? Anyone else?

Ive heard its extremly good for the engine becasue at high rpms the omp wont inject enough oil, specially if your modified. I do it and from what my buddies say that rebuild them, the housing are MUCH better.
Hope that helps

Theoretically it should wear much less with pre-mix. Because when we pre-mix we use high ratios most of the time and even higher when racing. If you compare the phisical amount of oil compared to using the MOP you are getting A LOT more with pre-mix. I use ~16 Oz per tank which gets me ~300 miles tops so that means I used ~5 Quarts per 3000 miles. I beleive the MOP is supposed to use ~1 quart every ~1000 miles. So that means your doing almost twice as much as the MOP. I haven't yet torn down my engine but I have been running pre-mix for around a year now with zero problems because of it. I still strongly support pre-mix and beleive the MOP was created as a "luxury" and not as a superior alternative to pre-mix.

As long as you aren't using any type of synthetic oil for premix you should be fine. Premix is better than the stock OMP because you can control how much goes in. Two stroke oil is also the best way to go for premixing. If you do a search you should find more than enough information on this subject, it is discussed incesently.
