Question on TB

OK Im getting my fuel injectors cleaned here soon, so I have my UIM and TB off. Is it worth it to port and polish the TB, like any noticible gains of power in any range? I figured porting and the TB mod would be good for some noticible power. Any thoughts or experience with porting this?

Porting and polishing isn't going to be noticeable unless you're running really high HPs.

Actually, does anyone have Dyno proof that port/polishing is worth the effort?

I believe BDC has a dyno chart for his "special" port and polish for turbo throttle bodies and it showed gains.

Well can anyone get those charts, Ide like to see. I was thinking the same thing, I figured a ported turbo TB would show a decent gain.

If you're going it yourself, it's worth doing. It is not worth paying for...

if you port and polish and remove the secondary butterlies you'll notice better throttle response on an N/A and also better spool on a turbo car. Definatly felt the response go up on my N/A when a friend ported the TB and removed the secondary butterflies. Pretty easy thing to do if you have the tools.

Depends which part(s) of the TB mod you do. If you remove the thermowax, idle quality when the engine is cold will be bad, but it's normal once warmed up. Removing the double throttle system has zero effect on idle.

That's assuming you do it right of course...
