question on rear axles PLEASE! I tried search already and....

either my isp is slow or the server is bogged down but I couldnt get it to complete.

anyhow, I was looking at my rear axles and I have grease that has leaked out of the boot where the boot meets the rear end on one side .Not much but I could see where it came out when I squeezed the boot. There where no holes in the boot, it has just leaked out from the boot where the two meet at the differential.

the clamps on the boot do not look the best and I was wondering if they were not sealed good enough.

can I put a new clamp on it to seal it up or what ? I would hate to have to buy new axles for that reason when they appear to be OK.

Need help with this one so I can fix it.

Take it to a shop that does FWD cv joints...that's basically all these are, too, just they're in the back instead of the front. They can put on a new boot and clamps, and grease the bearings inside, usually for under $75.

Is it a pain to replace the boot s myself? I see they make boot kits and I was thinking of trying it myself.

my stinking manual hasnt arrived yet.
