Question for people in the 300+ RWHP club

Im getting pretty anxious about my FC, I want to get it done so bad Anyway, I just like to know your guys impressions as far as the speed of it is concerned. My turbo2 before all the upgrades in the works (T04 hybrid, FMIC, streetport, etc..) had a full RB exhaust, TID, etc. It was pretty quick, but nothing Id call real fast. Im sure the 140k miles , low compression and bent turbine fins werent helping though. So is the car with 300rwhp a beast or what? Like if you give someone a ride, are they like "whoa this is pretty quick", or "Holy mother of god slow down!!" ?

Just so you know Im no stranger to fast cars, Im around 500+ HP cars daily. Just have never driven/been in a FC with much power.

Well let me put it this way, I have scared the S*%t out
all the passengers I have had thus far .....

Really though I dont think much more power than 300rwhp would be wise without some serious rubber to keep you planted. In fact I have traction problems through out second gear just by steping on it. 3rd is just an adrenaline Rush!
Im gona tune for 350rwhp though.... Beacuse Im addicted to speed

300rwhp in a FC is a solid 12 second car...not the fastest thing on the road, but pretty damn quick. I've noticed that turbo cars especially seem to be faster than n/a cars with the same power. I think the turbo spooling up really feels deceiving.

viper
heads/cam ls1
z06 or modded c5's
many foxbodies
dsm's
mkIV supras
quite a few lt1's
03 cobras's

among other cars that would give a 350rwhp FC a run for the money...there's always someone faster.

Well, I've scared a few passengers pretty good and my car is only estimated at around 270rwhp (never actually dyno'd it, but will be sometime before summer). So yeah 300+ at the wheels is gonna scare the bejeebus out of your average person.

I drove CARX7s 467 hp FC on the high boost setting. And I am not afraid to say that it was downright terrifying. That thing stepped out on me on the top of third....

Of course there is someone faster, but I said the vast majority off things out there!... commong man, no need to list of vehicles, cause there is always something faster! Viper Z06's 03 cobras, where in with the feraries and such... dsm's not very many are that fast, mkiv supras are quick but heavy so must yeild more power than the rx-7 to make due for the weight, not one LT1 that I have ever seen keep up (not to date anyway).

Anyways My ultimate goal is a 500hp FC, it will be had in two years! it will be had!
Had to up it silver, we can't have too many 400 Hp fc's in Canada, the country is simply too small...

Hehe we got a 4-6 in BC Canada making 400WHP+.
I know one that is being built as a pure drag/street car that will be making 650+WHP. Should be done within the next month.

I hope with all my heart that you are right because my goal is 330-350rwhp (at the moment) and it would be terrible waste of money(xxxx$) if im not satisfied with my car been fast enough. Going to dyno this month or next. Wish me luck.

Well, coming from MKIV Supra, 285rwhp feels quick but not fast. The thing about the power is... after like 2 weeks of upgrade, you start to crave for more power... I think I'm just gonna keep mine at low 300rwhp and work on overall balance of the car Oops, off topic. So, no, it actually felt kinda slow at times... but that's just me

I think that's natural with just about any power. I remember when I first got a stock turbo II I thought it was damn quick. After a few weeks it felt slow. I put on the turboback, and walbro and I thought my car was amazingly fast....and now it seems slow as hell to me. It's human nature

Weight to power ratio is crazy in rx-7's. Things fly up top. Third gear on the on ramp for the highway was always sooooo much fun.

PLus I think we can all agree that 280rwhp in a MKIV is vastly different from that same amount in a FC. My FC will weight almost 1000lbs less than a MKIV...

Im hoping the car will run mid-high 12s, thats my goal and Ill be perfectly happy with that. Im not a drag race kinda guy, I have just as much in works for the handling and balance as I do for the power. Honestly Id rather make 300HP reliably on lower boost then be making 400HP and have to worry constantly about when its going to blow up

Yeah. MKIV has more than 280rwhp stock And stock Supra is not exactly what I would call hella fast My FC *was* pushing about little more than half of power my MKIV was pushing... hoping to be in low 300rwhp after retuning so naturally, it feels slow to me, although from the dig, it feels just a tad slower than BPU Supra.

It's the weight thing man 1000 pounds is alot. A 280hp supra is a 14second car.

ya probably not what do supra's have stock? I know they are supposed to run like 13.5's but i have seen quite a few stock ones run mid to low 14's. Guess people just can't drive them.

I believe they are around 320 HP stock. And they run about right with a stock FD in the 1/4, which is anywhere from 13.5-14.0, dependant on conditions, driver,etc..

It's "320HP" claimed at flywheel but people who dyno stock Supras have been getting 290rwhp+. Toyota underrated MKIVs. And yeah, because of weight, 350rwhp Supra and 285rwhp FC feels about the same from the dig.
