question on my compression

just got my compression test on my ported t2 and it is 80 in front and 80 in rear

is this good to race because i wanted to go solo 2 at least and a occasional drag at the track

is this a good starting point i know it can b better but i mean is it a decent compression to do the things i wanna do

Is that psi? If so, it's screaming replace me. 85psi is pretty much the minimum spec in the FSM, once it's lower than that the engine needs to be rebuilt/replaced/etc.

^^^^ yeah, if that's PSI, it's time for a rebuild No racing with that..Compression isn't really something that builds with modifications, if thats what you mean
i know it can b better

What causes drastic diferances in rotor 1 to 2? Say like a 25psi veriation from rotor 1 to rotor 2?

Just broken seals/stuck side seals/etc on 1 rotor only.

and wear

i do not tend to put much stock in compression testing because of so many variables doing the test, mainly the testers themselves. i put more stock in compression variations than low numbers. basically compare your readings to a known good engine and you should know whether yours is marginal or average.

if the car starts fine every time and has lower miles i wouldn't worry about it.

I just finished up my nitrous install and decided to compression test the motor before running it, found out that it is only @ 70Psi front and rear rotor, but i ended up running it on the track 7 times w/ n20 the next day. Suprisingly car still runs great w/ no problems.
(N/A w/ 131,000mi )

So i wouldnt worry about it too much but you should start thinking about a rebuild.

You went ahead and bought and installed N20 on a motor with 131k and expected to be over 70psi????

How big of a shot??? Obviously no a 100 shot

The compression test was done before i ran the n20. so it could possibly be lower than 70psi @ this point but i doubt it. Its only a 50 shot.
