Question on Mazdatrix complete race exhaust for 88na

I just want to know if the Mazdatrix complete race exhaust is all I need. Do I still need pre-cats and main-cat, or does this system eliminate all that crap. I don't have to worry about emissions so I want to eliminate the cats. Mazdatrix claims a 40hp increase.

It replaces everything so you won't need anything else. Same system I'm getting pretty soon here. Right on.

Thanks Redwood, that's all I wanted to know. I'll probably order it soon.

I have it for a 87. Its all there. There is also a 3/16 pipe coming off the front exaust pipe that activates the aux ports if you still have them. I question whether I got a intake manifold gasket with it . Been too long ago. Dual all the way.

Hey

I have RB dual 2". Shop estimates 150 for streight pipes. Heads costed me 190 total with shiping and gaskets and flanges. So for 340 pluss whatever muffs. Mag or billit. You can have pretty much the same system for 550. The bends arnt mandrel but they barly need to bend at all. Also thiers no pre silencers so horspower should be equal. Thier muff are a lot better quality thou.

I've heard bad things from various people about the quality of the muffler shop system. Well it is definitely cheaper (damn, damn cheaper), I've been told that the sound doesn't do the rotary justice in that it isn't quite the correct length more often than not. After doing a little research (and hearing that Mazdatrix dual system at a local RX-7 mechanic's) I must say that it seems the way to go just to be safe.

But with the saved money I could go and upgrade my suspension...

TOO MANY CHOICES!!!!

Mazdatrix also spent a lot of time developing that kit by testing different pipe diameters, muffler combos etc. Plus their kit has two huge presilencers to keep the noise down.

ive heard that going dual to the rear into a single muffler gets more hp than dual all the way out, not sure if thats right or not, but im gonna try it soon, when i get my 86 rebuilt its getting a street port, haltech and im gonna get the RB dual header and run 2.5" or 3" pipe into a single X-TEC muffler, gonna see what kind of power i can get with all bolt ons, 89 ported manifold, and a modded tb with the streetport and haltech, think i can hit 300flywheel hp??
