question on exhaust

im looking to buy a new exhaust for my 7 but cant make any decision. i want a good looking true dual but nothing enormous or too loud. also what kind of set up as far as headers, presilensers or cats should i go for to get a real good sound of the rotary. nothing ricey or extremely loud.

i was thinkin the hks duals or maybe rb but im also considering the apexi gt even though its a single side exit.

i thought you said you didnt want anything enormous because if you dont then dont go with apex anything or hks your either gonna have to go custome or get RB

yeah maybe ill take that "enormous" back. i like the hks and apexi ive just seen some other really ugly looking exhaust. does the size of the exhuast ports have anything to do with the size of the piping? also any suggestions on exhuast like flow, power, sound looks ?

RB header with a straight pipe back to a corksport catback.

oh darn, you said you wanted duals.

almost forgot, that might be just a tad loud(just an itty bitty bit)

full RB system has a nice sound with a quiet tone to it, and very functional performance

To my understanding it sounds nice.

How much money do you have?
How loud do you like it?
Do you have emissions where you are at?

ive got some money, well time at least. i do have emissions but i want to put a downpipe on it anyway. i like the apexi and some guy at a shop says rb is quieter than stock? but has the best flow. does anybody know if the greddys tip is straight off the muffler or does it kind of stick off?

dual N1's is too loud with a header. That **** made my head explode. I've got the 2.5" RB catback, RB header, and a straight midpipe (ditched presilencer b/c it's useless IMO)

You could always go with the setup that dDub114 had. I want that setup to make my nieghbors cry. lol. I have a clip on the greddy the apexi and a couple other systems I could send you. It might take awhile all I have is dail up though.

Both the greddy and the HKS are rice exhausts and loud. The only ones you have left for choice that are not to loud nor ricey.

RB, RE, Borla

Tips:
Do not get anything made by pacesetter because they SUCK!
Do not get anything made by Corksport, GReddy, or HKS because they are loud.

If you want something soothing, and sexy..

Racing Beat Full System..Racing Beat True Dual System (I have this)..
RE Amemiya cat-back sounds REALLY spicy with RB Header and Presilencer (requires custom welding to make them fit, so I'm told).

But yeah..Racing Beat True Duals just sounds so good O_O

If you're going for max performance, people will say to stray away from true duals, others swear by it. The car mine are on is a DD, and they are awesome.

I bought the RB Full RoadRace system & I love the sound. Quiet when normally driven but has a nice roaring sound when I get on it. I was truly shocked & amazed when I replaced my old burned out crap & fired it up.

Well I am running stock exh. manifold with strait pipe to me greddy power extreme cat-back. And the sound is pure bliss, it has a wonderful deep tone and it's actually pretty modest in sound, enough that i am thinking about getting some RB headers!

Pacesetter headers are shitty quality but I've seen cars with their headers run on par or better with RB. Also dyno results aren't too different. If their fit wasn't bad and shotty quality wasn't involved. It'd be better.

Corksport, Greddy, and HKS are FINE products. Corksport is loud yes, but it depends on what you are running (cats, manifolds, and so on). Greddy is super smooth and fairly loud. HKS stuff is actually very quiet and good ****.

RacingBeat does offer quality products, but people lately have been making more power with custom or other setups :O! So I wouldn't say they are the end all. Again to the poster: How much money do you have? Do you have emissions?

RE cat-backs can be found at http://www.corksport.com

That setup will be nice and offer good power. But the cat-back MIGHT have some issues bolting up to the pre-silencer, sizes are close so I doubt it should be that bad.

Check something to see if its 60MM or so at the cat-back location on the GT-Spec exhaust.

see, this is the question I've had since I got the car. the drivers' side muffler was blown out for reasons I don't want to know, and I've wondered if I should go with a dual or single borla setup
