Question on building motors for my application.

I want to build a motor that can handle a good amount of boost for my future turbo setup. I'm thinking of getting an aggressive street port. I've heard of pinning the motor, but I wonder if it will really be neccisary for 15psi. The builder said that he would not recommend going over 10-11psi without pinning. I need some opinions on pinning and if I will need it. He will only be charging me $200 because I'm a friend of one of his good customers, he usually charges $600

For 15psi, is there a specific type of apex seal(or anything internal) that I should be using. Are there any seals that are better than the other? thanks.

For porting, if I go with a large streetport, I will be sacrificing low end for top end right, and if I go for a small streetport, i sacrifice top end for low end right?

Thanks.
~Swift, out.

What is "a good amount of boost"?

15psi isn't that much.

I wouldn't worry about pinning the motor unless we're talking 30psi levels or 500hp+.

I was going to shoot for 400whp at around 15-18psi. Is that too much for unpinned motor.

Do you have anything to address about choice of apex seals?

I don't think it's necessary for those kinds of power levels.
It would be nice to get it done, but I don't feel it's necessary.
You're talking about boost levels which can be done on pump gas.

If you don't know me by now, I am a fanatic advocate of stock OEM Mazda apex seals.
