Question about turn signals
Hey guys!
the turn signals on my 91' NA flash at a very fast rate, you know, like when a bulb is out/blown. all bulbs are lit however. it does this on both the left and right sides. when i put the hazzards on, the flash rate goes back to normal. any ideas what causes this and how to fix it? thanks.

The resistance of at least on bulb is bad. Like someone put in LED bulbs, or there is a short in the wiring or the bulb sockets are all corroded.

i will check for corrosion. it has the original blinker in it as it used to work fine. if not that, then i will replace all the bulbs and see if that works. thanks guys.

i checked and the right side does have corrosion but the left is fine. they both flash really fast on both sides though. i was wondering if it may have to do with the turn signal switch itself. anyone have experience with that?
PfSantos, di replacing/cleaning the corroded fixture fix the problem?

I took some 220 Grit sandpaper and cleaned the inside of the bulb socket. Then cleaned some more and put a coat of dielectric grease to prevent further corrosion. One side was quite bad, the other somewhat. Cured the problem.
Might as well check the rears too, although they're in a cleaner environment.
Yes, it could also be the switch or solder connections in the CPU, and these cars are known for cold solder joint problems. There's info on fixing solder joints in the CPU, logicon, and idiot light cluster floating just waiting to be searched. I had problems with all of these to some degree and it's all working now (except for the horn, which I'm feeding separately).
