question about turboing s5.

people with cars like SonicRats (turbo'd S5 na) do they make the VDI not functional? I noticed the T2's have no VDI that I could see

Sonicrat's was a turbo'd s4, not s5. Turbo's dont have VDI because they don't need "fake boost." And if you turbo'd your car I would just ditch the VDI.

ditch the VDI as in remove the entire valve etc? or just leave it closed

If you can actually remove it, remove it, I'd think it'd be a restriction if it's always closed, but I dont know much about the VDI since I have an s4.

Wire it open. It'll flow better this way. I've got a s5 turbo on a s4 engine. A bit of a mix

So now you're going turbo instead of the supercharger? Why the sudden change? What are you going to do with the charger? I'm working on designing myself a manifold to mount the m90's in a bit more 'proper' fashion.

lol. I'll say this, it's about 4x easier to do. I'd go with a s4 turbo though, it's easier to mount and doesn't require you to kick the **** out of your frame like I had to. I'll talk more with you later over AIM about it, off to watch a movie now.

I'm so ready to do my turbo project, I just wish I had the money

Also, how come you had to beat the **** out of your frame? I thought aaroncake was able to fit his s5 turbo in without any frame modification.

I got a 91 N/A turbo.

first I was not concerned about emissions so I removed ALL of it, including the VDI. I actually removed the cylinder out of it. The conection out of the ECU (2M) wich is for the VDI on N/A now is used for the knock sensor.

That would imply you're running the Turbo ECU?
