Most dealers in California thats close to me dont even sell tools. And they are not going to let you borrow anything. Just my experience.

Air tools and a pulley puller kit will get the flywheel off in a few minutes. If the flywheel is not too bad and still pretty flat and smooth. It would not be worth the time and headache for you to try to remove the flywheel. I would just get some rough sandpaper and deglaze the flywheel if the flywheel is in good condition.

stick a big screw driver in the spark plug hole to keep the engine from rotating.. then hit it with a 600ft/lb impact wrench..

please dont listen to that^^..

really tho.. secure the flywheel from rotating..by bolting a chain to it or a piece of unistrut.. then be prepared to supply about 500 ft/lbs.. via air tools or a long breaker bar and a 5' pipe. and have fun.. i broke a nice ratchet removing mine..

Call up an independent mobile tire service for Diesel Trucks, tell them what you got, have them swing by the next time they're " in the neighborhood ", (usually an hour or two later), slip the guy 25 bucks for stringing out his airhose, and be done with it. 2 1/8" socket is a standard size for tractor trailer lugs, so it is gravy cash for them.

Read the FAQ. This nut, as well as the front hub nut, is covered in detail.

Since this is the 1000th time this has been brought up in the last 6 seconds, I'm closing the thread.
