Question about JDM Engines.

Ok, I just got a quote on a complete Infini III engine and it turns out i can get it less than i can get a TII engine from anywhere around me. I'm just curious if most of the parts are interchangeable from the TII for install, such as the tranny, driveshaft, ECU, etc...or will I have to bring those over as well?

ECU, no. Tranny, probably not. Driveshaft, no. Wiring harness, no.

You're looking at basically as much work as a 20b *shrug*

I believe above speaking of the newer Infini models, eg the FD. The Savanna Efini of 1990 was similar to the US model, but it had 202 HP and was lighter. I was just looking at some sites to see differences in spec, but no luck.

i think just the FD models were "efini"

FC ones were "infini"...so he probably has an FC. The Infini IV was the last one before the FD release. 215 hp and 2770 weight. So my guess is that the Infini III is somewhere in the FC range before that...

I think he is thinking of "Infini", at least i hope, if thats the case, then all the FC **** should work with it.

the infini's had more HP from the exhaust... i'm pretty sure the engines are identical.

Dude, what rock have you been hiding under?!

ImportFanatic, I think you need to clarify whether you're talking about an Infini (FC) or Efini (FD) engine. The Infini engine will drop straight in as they were identical to any other FC TII engine of the same model (S4 or S5), but an Efini engine is a whole different ballgame.
