Question about ignition coils

I just got finished cleaning/painting my ignition coils. (Metallic black with high temp clear..)

Oohh pretty....

Anyway, just wondering if the base and mouting points of the brackets was used as a ground for the coils? If so Ill need to sand some paint off. I wasnt sure if they were grounded through the plugs or not. Thanks..

Good job! I have done the same Leonard. I glassbeaded the Coils and gave them a shot of clearcoat. The Ignitors do have to be grounded. I have sanded off all bolt down attachments with a dremol wheel. I wish I took note of this at the time of painting them. I could have just masked It prior to painting It.

No kidding!
Boy, to be at a place where the EXTERIOR condition of the coilpacks is an issue...sheesh.

Nice looking man but I've never even looked that far down on my list of stuff to do to the car.

I'm envious. Better than new. Looks as though you've spent a great deal of time on the parts. Should look great when all put together.

As for the Coils, I used progresively fine sandpaper to give It a smooth texture and appearance. I than used VHT SP-115 Clearcoat. Also, I got ss Allen Head Bolts to compliment the package.

Looks nice. You may want to try that to Leonard.
