Question about ECU
I have a question that maybe someone here may be able to help me with. I have an '88 SE that I think has a bad ECU, it's a 5sp. My question is, I have an '86 GXL and was wondering if we could test the ECU out of the '88 SE in the '86 GXL and also does it make a difference if one is an Auto and the other is a 5sp? Can anyone answer this?

both are S4 cars so no problem there. The only thing that my cause a problem is the difference in tranny's. Not sure if it matters or not though myself. If tranny's don't make a difference then it should be perfectly fine swapping them. Good luck to you.

you can use a N326 ECU in a car that has a N327 without any problems.
And the auto tranny computer is not integrated with the ECU. It doesn't care what ECU it is connected too.
