question about Dashpot for secondary throttle plates??
My throttle had stuck last fall, im tryin to figure out what caused it i've eliminated all the basics.... im pretty sure it had something to do with my secondary dash pot it seems to bind at the linkage there , it takes it atleast 2 sconds or longer to open up when i open the throttle all the way, and makes a pretty loud click with the engine off , it seems like its sticking half way and then will finally open
can someone tell me if the delay is sappose to be happening or if they should be opening right away at WOT, it doesnt seem right to me
would there be any ill effect in removing the secondary dashpot with out doing the TB mod?

From your vague description I can't really say if it's the dashpot or not. But I'll just assume here that the dashpot needs adjustment, for the benefit of anyone reading.
Remove the TMIC if you have one. there should be a white (it was white on mine anyway) thing sticking out of the bottom of the dashpot. This makes contact with the linkage to slow the throttle plates as they close. Rotate the linkage back and forth and observe how it makes contact with the dashpot.
There is a hex nut on the bottom of the dashpot that is used for adjustment. loosen that nut and turn the mushroom thing at the top with your hand. from memory, I think you want to turn it counter-clockwise to move the mushroom thing outwards. What this does is make the throttle linkage contact the white thing on the dashpot less. move the linkage back and forth just to kind of see what it's doing. There is a procedure in the FSM for adjusting the dashpot, but in my experience I think you will have to adjust it by feel. Adjust it a little, drive it and see if anything changes, adjust it some more. The purpose of the dashpot is to reduce the chance of stalling on decel. There are no performance benefits from eliminating it provided that it is adjusted correctly.

i know this is the dashpot for the secondary plates,
that little white part that connects to the secondary throttle plates it seems as though that spring isnt putting enough tesion to hold it in the proper spot then it pops back in
but im not sure if the dashpot is putting to much pressure on it
when you open the throttle to WOT do you have a delay in the time the secondaries open?
mine is over 1 second and you can hear it click when it pops back in place
i'll take a video clip showing what i mean in a few minutes

you can see in the video how that bolt is popping up off where it should be seated on that white thing than connects to the secondary throttle plate
I think the dashpot is putting on to much pressure causing it to bind half way

i saw that in FSM, if the clearance is off on the primary it could cause my secondaries to bind??
see in the video how theres a 1 second delay before it pops open, I just wanted to know if that was normal, cause it doesnt seem right to me, i'm gonna pull my TB off and adjust the dashpot, to see if it makes a differance

did you try spraying it with tons of wd40, and then sitting in the can and repeatedly hitting the gas for like half an hour? thats how i got mine to stop being a *****. You also might want to try removing the dashpot and seeing if it still does the same thing.

I think the dashpot that rides on the cam is supposed to delay the opening of the secondary throttle plates for a moment for a smooth transiton to WOT. So that the secondarys don't just snap open.
Can't you back off the dashpot and see if that helps? Or look at the black cam and see if it's deteriorating. Or put some grease on the cam and see if things go better for you.
I adjusted one of those dashpots once and messed up. The cam broke apart and jammed the throttle linkage open. Had to turn the key off and come to a stop to fix the jam.
