PVC Piping?

I know this is wrong. But does it actually work for a FMIC? I heard of a guy who just got into cars and turbo'd his integra and used these. Can they take he heat?

Pvc loves coming out of turbo compressors. It says "mmmm mmmm that turbo is so cold and doesnt melt me". You should use cardboard instead. Try duct taping paper towel cylinders together.

You could use it if you wanted to. You just need more space to fit a certain size since its usually thicker than metal, at least the home depot stuff is. You'll need 2.5" silicone couplers for 2" PVC. You also can't bend it (from my limited knowledge of plumbing) as far as I know. My TID is built from PVC and I used a straight piece of PVC to limit the piping size before I ported the wastegate to limit boost.

A combination of straight PVC pipes and elbows is also used for mocking up intercooler piping to give to an exhaust shop.

If you are going to use plumbing pipe, use ABS pipe. It is more heat resistant and doesn't release chlorine gas when it warms up.

But honestly, there are generic aluminum intercooler piping kits on eBay for under $100.
