Putting in new engine: Which hoses to order from Mazda, which to use generic hose?
Ok, so I'm going to be putting an engien back in my car finally, and I need to know which hoses/vac lines are a special shape and need to be ordered from Mazda. I assume the vac lines on the front of the TB and the spider need to be a specific part, but are there any others?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
coolant hose, use mazda bent
everything else, just use autozone vac lines....
omp vac lines, use the mazda one...
that is, if you want everythign to look pretty and nice...
stock one lasts like 10 15 years, so even if it seems rather expensive, it isnt much since it owuld be the last time you buy them, right? you would total your car before then!

At this point, I really don't care about looks, I just want a running car. I'm trying to get it back together in time for the rotary bbq in dallas on saturday. I've already had to go to the dealership every workday since last thursday, and will be back tomorrow and the next day. The only reason I go there is because the get stuff in the next day for almost nothing, and the parts guy gives me the shop discount
Anyway, by bent coolant hose, do you mean the stuff thats kinda around the top of the TB, or all coolant hoses?

yup.
thats what i meant.
If you want to be cheap though, i still think you should at least get the heater hose that goes from rear iron to firewall... a prebent one just fits so much better... and wont kink, and make oil filter change easier.

Well, I just went and check my old hoses and thankfully all of the pre-bent ones except one are in reusable condition. Thank God, cause those are expensive. Don't get me wrong, I'm gonna get new ones, but I'm gonna wait till I actually rebuild my engine. I'm just dropping in this used one to get the car back on the road.
