Starting/Flooding Question

I've got this '87 That has been sitting for at least 6 months without being started. Motor spins good and tries to kick over but I know it's flooded. Is there any other way to get oil in the motor other than the way described in the unflooding procedure? It's a bitch to get something down in there to get oil in the spark plug holes. Any help?

The only entrances into the combustion chamber are the spark plug holes, the intake, and the exhaust, so the spark plugs are the easier way by far. You can get a funnel with a flexable hose on the bottom at walmart, I think. I used one for premixing for a while. That should allow you to direct it into the plug holes.

Pull the EGI fuse and crank it over for like 10 seconds then put them back and try to start. the s4 OMP is mechanical so it will load up the chambers with oil but you wont be getting fuel because you pulled the EGI fuse. Reinstall the fuse and try to start. If it doesn't work the first time...try it a couple more times with more oil. I wouldn't crank it for more than 10 seconds at a time though, give it a rest between cranks. My S4 floods if I don't let it warm up before I shut it down. It can be a serious PITA to get started again.

Update: I got home and started working on the car and this is what happened. Got oil into sparkplugs and put a brand new red top battery in car. Motor spins and fires for about ten seconds and dies. Turn the key and I got NOTHING! What could be the problem now. What should I check next?

Check ground wires. I had similar problems, It ended up being a combination of rusted ground (under the fuse block on the engine bay wall) and the fuse block under the hood had a bad connection.

Thanks! I'm off tomorrow, so I'll be on it all day. It will either be running or stripped by nightfall!
