put my corksport cat-back on

well, it finally came today. the box was all beat to ****, and there was a small dent in the muffler, but other than that it was nice. a nice little engraving on the side that said "corksport mazda exhaust system". the stainless looks really nice too.

now for the sounds. i bolted the cat back right up when i got it. i dont have a good lift or anything, and no real way to replace my cat right now, so i just left my stock cat on, and hopefully ill find someone with a lift tomorrow. So anyways, with the stock cat, this system is still loud as all hell. i mean, LOUD. but it isnt a shitty loud, it doesnt sound like a weedeater or anything. at idle it just rumbles, all the way to about 3000 RPM. once you hit between 4 and 5 it screams. but the whole time it maintains this really throaty, bassy exhaust note. it isnt edgy or hondaish at all. and when you roll up the windows and close the sunroof, it really isnt that loud at all. but, you do scare pedestrians when you drive by.

overall rating........9.5 on the product, 2 on the service.

Is your car turbo or N/A? I asked the pipe OD and they said 3" and 4" tip, a little big, but very good
And a great price.
Now get video or pictures.

$290 or so and I have no idea as for shipping, looks like a good deal for a nice SS Catback.

So they use a different muffler? Hmm, thought they only made one muffler. Well the only reason I don't want them is because I want a 4" tip to fit perfectly in the cutouts on the rear bumper.

lol, just use a milk crate as your seat and remove the passengers, ultimate in weight reduction!

Damn straight node! Anybody got any suggestions for dual exhaust on a T2? Preferably affordable? I was looking at the corksport, but I really REALLY want duals

go for the RB turbo back, its an ok price. Sounds good, not really loud, and looks close to stock.
Best sound/power you'll find if you worry about being too noisey

actually.. for n/a's you should have 2.5" piping.. for turbos a little around 3" piping. 3" and 4" is a bit big for n/as .. I am not sure about turbos..

Bigger is always better on Turbos. Always.
The turbo itself provides any back pressure you need.
The greater the pressure difference between the sides on the turbo the faster it will spool.
Edit: Well, not always better i guess, becuase if you go too big you'll lose velocity and create more restrictions i guess. But for the most cases, anything upto 3.5" should be fine on a modded turbo rotary...

Hmm, noisey? That's the least of my worries, I got just an RB downpipe on there now

3" OD, and tip size isn't as important as the pipe size

But do you people mean 2.5" ID or OD, because the pipewalling could make up for a lot of that

Ugghh...NO
The diff in ID due to gage/wall thickness between 16GA (.065") and 20GA (.035") is negligible. The majority of Exhaust tubing is quoted in OD. Go grab a crane 401 manual to compute the flow difference. If longivity is a concern, thicker wall, If weight is a concern thinner wall. You also should consider the nois attenuation factor (to reduce "tinny" sounds) of the wall thickness of the TUBING you are using.

TUBING:
16GA 2 1/4" ss tubing weighs 1.531 lbs/ft
20GA 2 1/4" ss tubing weighs 0.836 lbs/ft

PIPE: Their is no readily available 2 1/4" pipe so 2 1/2" is used for comparison
NPS(nominal Pipe size) 2 1/2" OD= 2.875"
Sch 5S weighs 2.498 lbs/ft wall thickness = 0.083"
Sch 10S weighs 3.564lbs/ft wall thickness = 0.120"
