Question Put my car back together and now it wont start.

I had it cranked for a little bit but it wouldnt idle by itself at first. Eventually it settled into a choppy irregular idle then it would die. I have been lookin at my haynes manual to try to figure out how to set timing as I think I might have moved the Crank Angle Sensor when I pulled it out. The reason im a bit confused is the factory color marks on the pulley are gone and the previous owner put on different color marks. Im not sure which ones the leading.
Anyway, I tried to pop the clutch an it wouldnt start. I decided to check my fuel pump and it had gone out so I ordered a walbro 255 lph-hp and got it today. After I installed it the car still wont start. I am getting fuel to the engine but I cant hear the pump running. I figured you could hear it. I can hear the walbro on my stang. Im gonna check my plugs tommorrow. Could they be so fouled that they wont fire?
Could anyone give me some suggestions or a list of things to try in oreder maybe? Any input is greatly appreciated guys. Thanks.
Jeremy

Looking from the front, towards the pulley, as it turns CW, the first mark is the leading spark.
Line it up. pull the CAS cover & see if the star wheel point & the reluctance head are lined up.
Next, check the CAS connector pins for clean shinny metal-to-metal contact.

Ok I tried that....and still no luck. Im not quite sure what you mean by star wheel point lining up with the reluctance head. I know what the star wheel is but im not sure what point I am supposed to be lining up with the reluctance head. What exactly does the reluctance head look like? While I was out there I pulled the spark plugs out and cleaned them, and still it wont crank. The car is flooding from me trying to crank it. We tried to pull it off in the yard the other day but it still wouldnt crank. Should I try pulling it down the road for more speed? I looked in the manual and it said that the air flow meter could be bad causing it not to crank...how would I go about checking that? Once again thanks for all your help.

is every little thing plugged in and tightened down? AFM plugged in, TPS adjusted, sure the pulley is on the right way so you get the correct timing marks?

Hey 69 your link dont work man. Thanks for the advice. Im searching for timing marks right now. Dont the pullies only go on one way? And driver as far as I know everything is hooked up right. The car was cranking fine then suddenly it wont do anything but turn over. Ill give her a look over tommorrow if I have time after my little girls Birthday party.

It's sometimes called the pick-up.
It's a stationary coil around a magnet that generates the pulse the ECU triggers from.
