Purchasing 2nd Gen Rex

Well I have an S13 240sx right now..and im planning to get a 2nd gen rx-7... I know the performance of this car is fairly decent..as well as the handling.. but im a little skeptical about its reliability..? anyway.. i just want to know some of the experiences you had with this car.. if it has any problems.. or anything to look for when finding one.. and what are the likely chances ill find a turbo ii model?.. is that the only one with a turbo? what options would i have to make the car more reliable? i actually need to get this car from seattle,wa.. to portland, or..to sf, ca...to la, ca..

Well as far as performance and everything they are great. Reliabilty? Um, well I have only had my car leave me somewhere once & that was when it had a flat & you know I took the spare out But I have had some problems with the car, but to be expected out of a 13 year old car. You need to look at mileage, get a compression test done, & see if the engine has been rebuilt or replaced. If the car is already modded then I wouldn't get it either, just means someone has been ragging on it. O ya, the NAs are more reliable than the turbos & the TII is the only turbo FC.

If you're worried about reliability and practicality stick with the S13, it's a good car.

The FC is a bit more difficult to drive at the limit, but once you get the hang of it I feel that it's superior. It's also a car that will probably require a little wrenching here and there to get back into good shape.

I'd type more, but I gotsta get outta here...
