SCCA Solo II wheel help
I was wondering about wheels for solo II. I know that to stay in CS I have to have stock wheels, or wheels that are stock size + or - 10mm (I think). So what I was wondering if ALL FC wheels are considered stock. could I put vert wheels on my 86 sport and still stay in CS? or what about Turbo II wheels? that's my question. thanks.

If your running CS you will need to run the size rim on the car as it originally came from the factory. If you are running a 1986 base model you need to stick with the 14 x 5.5(don't know exact width) rims. Likewise with the GXL you need to stick with the 15 x 6(or what ever the factory size is). On an 86 sport I don't know the factory size. Depends on whether its a 4 lug or a 5 lug car.
If you have the 5-lug rims on your car and you are going to buy aftermarket rims I would suggest the Kosei K-1 rims. They are fairly light for the $ and look good to.

Next season you'll be running ES. And remember, you can't have any other mods except shocks and catback exhaust. Otherwise you'll move to SP (street prepared). If you have mods that take you to SP anyway, you can run any size wheel.

Same with SCCA Road track racing, you have to run the same diameter that came with the car, but in most road racing, you can change the width up to a certain size (I can run 13x7 on the 12A FB). Most people buy panasports, because they're light and durable, and not TERRIBLY expensive. However, I would like to experiment with Volk Racing wheels sometime, although they're really expensive, they're really light.
