Pump Issue

hey i know this question has probably been asked but damnit i can't find it...anyway my fuel pump comes on when you jump the check connector...but it doesn't any other time...i just bought this car and it hasn't ran in bout a year...any help would be appreciated

The check connector bypasses the safety switch in the AFM, which normally cuts the fuel pump when airflow is zero, i.e. the engine isn't running.

Most likely this switch is not making contact for some reason. You can test this with a multimeter by checking the continuity across the two leftmost pins on the AFM socket. There's should be continuity when the flap is opened. See the FSM for more info. If you don't have the FSM, click here and download it in PDF format for free.

You can open up the AFM and see the switch, and you may be able to repair the problem yourself. Otherwise replace the AFM.

appreciate the info...i thought that might be the problem...any takes on were to buy a good 13b turbo
