1993 13bTT into an 1986 rx7NT??
Hey rotar heads,
I recently picked up an 86 Non-turbo... with an overheating problem. You already know where this is going. I didn't know guys. I was lured by the seemingly limitless power of the rotary, and before I did my homework, had bought a 13b with a bad coolant seal. Ahhh! It's not turbo, so I don't want to spend the time and money rebuilding it.
So I'm ebay/craigslist hunting for a motor. So I'm wondering, is it feasible to put a 13b from a third Gen into a second Gen car? Lay some knowledge on me. Spanks

first bit of knowledge. use the search feature or people on here will kill you
second, just get a j spec 13bt or a 13b-re out of a cosmo
the 13bt will go in without much of a problem, the cosmo uses some work

Feasible, yes. Straightforward? No.
The long and short of it is that there is virtually nothing in common between the two engines. The mounts are different, the 2nd gen ECU will not run the triggers and coils, and everything that connects to the engine (cooling, fuel, exhaust, etc.) will need to be fabricated.
The 13BT from the S4 or S5 bolts right in.
All this is covered in the FAQ, which is the first place a person should look before posting. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=494667
