ok thanx for the info Syncro, so has anyone done the banjo bolt conversion for the pulsation damper and is it possible to use a damper/primary fuel rail for a N/A off a 89-91 model? supposely the better one.

Pinfield do you have any pics of this on your engine, trying to picture how its installed. Kinda smell a faint gas odor when running but its seems to go away after the cars been running for like 5 minutes or so. Does it affect the performance with this mod?

Personally...

Peace of mind that my car won't burst into flames at any time > "disadvantages" of putting on a banjo bolt

Syncro not to be a pain what fitting did you use for the fuel line? can you put a pic of the banjo bolt installed on the car and do you know actaully which one you bought for your car?. Thanx again!! Sorry guys I just dont want my car to burst out in flames one day, wanna fix this ASAP.

If you had a second primary fuel rail couldn't you just use the front banjo bolt to replace the pd on the installed fuel rail? I suppose it's cheaper to buy the bolt ($10 vs. $30 for fuel rail) but if you've got one laying around, go for it.

The first two pics show the fuel pressure regulator (I believe). The pd is on the opposite end of that rail.

The second picture, not sure what you are showing us there. I can't really make out anything of significance.

It suppose to show the opposite end of that fuel rail, the connection that is. Its just a banjo bolt with a fuel line connector on it.
Am I even looking at the right thing here, augh.

ok with further studying on my spare motor I found out that those pics posted earlier are the secondary fuel rail, I found the primary rail. The pulsator damper on my spare one is plastic. I havent checked to see what I have on my car yet. Is it a project to take off the dynamic chamber and everything else that needs to come off to get to the primary? Im looking at the Haynes manual and looks like it gonna be a project. BTW that is a banjo bolt on my secondaries right as pictured above.

The pulsation dampener is covered by a plastic cap (yellow). Or at least it's supposed to be.

You don't have to take apart the UIM (upper intake manifold) completely or anything. It just comes off, somewhat, in one piece.

jgrts20- yours is an NA so just find the fron of the primary fuel rail and it will be there. it looks just like the fpr you posted in your second pic except with no nipples on it.

edit: sorry i didnt finish reading the thread before i posted...

S5 (& S6's) Pulsation Dampers are a different design than S4 designs. On S5's, the PD is welded onto the primary fuel rail. It's far less likely to fail than S4 PDs... but it happens.
