Rotory Resuresction.. I have a question for you .. Should there be any play with the disc inside the pressure plate once its torqued down to the flywheel??
i remember when i pulled the centering tool out i was a little curious and tried to move it.. it was solid. now. i think last time i did a clutch in another vehicle the disc has some play ,, not alot ,, but some ,, like it could move a little..
the reason i ask is because i went out and checked the master cylinder. my friend pushed it and held it .. it didnt loose pressure(like slowly return ) and it went out quite a bit ,, i would say atleast a inch. and it didnt seem like it was loosing pressure. I couldnt pull it back by hand when the clutch was pressed to the floor.
Im thinking you might be right but i was going to try and get as much background and info before i drop this tranny for the 3rd time. any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated

The pressure plate holds the disc to the flywheel to transfer the power to the input shaft on the trans...
If it moves, you've got trouble because the disc will slip!
Depressing the clutch pedal forces the pressure plate back and away from the flywheel creating an open space for the disc to spin freely and not complete the mechanical linkage between the flywheel and the transmission.
It is at this point when you can shift gears and have the engine running but not transferring power to the transmission.

Inch, inch and a half is about right for slave cyl travel. Doesnt sound like a hydraulic problem then. You're gonna be dropping that trans again.
