they must be different because the leading plug holes are 5 degrees different between s4 and s5

5 degrees after top dead center is 5 degrees after top dead center is 5 degrees after top dead center. In my humble opinion.

Actually I'm not sure because it's a S5 pulley on a S4. The TIMING does not bother me a whit. Five degrees ATDC is five degrees ATDC period. You can install the sparkplug next to the exaust port but TDC is still TDC and unless I goofed up, both S4 and S5 have the same timing marks at five degrees ATDC and 20 degrees ATDC.

iIF the bolt pattern matches it would seem alright. BUT is the pulley groove meant for another type belt???? Got me. And I don't believe the pulley has a lot to do with the balanced assy of the eccentric shaft/flywheel/front balance weight, so that aspect does not bother me.

There's other folk on that other forum that are pretty sure each eccentric shaft and front pulley are a matched set. I'm a touch skeptical about that, but .........

ok, bolt pattern is perfect. S5 puley fit perfectly on S4 engine.
Belt fit perfect too.
